So I swapped the head on my d15b7 for a y8 head along with new dizzy cap, rotor, plugs and wires. It cranked up and ran fine for about 2 days then it just died and wouldn't start (got fuel, but no spark). Turns out the ICM was fried. Replaced with another dizzy (it was cheaper) and it started back up again. Yesterday it just died at a red light the same way. Both times this has happened starting from a stop in 1st gear. It just stalls out and then bye bye distributor. Does anyone have any ideas as to why it keeps frying distributors. I want to fix the real problem before I throw any more money at it. I am using a p28 ECU and wired the vtec myself. All the other wiring is stock. My car is just sitting at a random doctors office in town, I don't want to call AAA again. Could a bad ground on my vtec solenoid cause it to surge a Zap my dizzy?
not sure but someone will chime in and help
