#74397 k so i just did a compression test on my jdm B16A and got these readings. cycl1 180 cycl2 175 cycl3 175 cycl4 180. i am curiuos if i did the test correctly though. i pulled all the sprakplugs, fuel injector clips, and the fuel pump fuse, then put the tester in the plug hole, finally i cranked the car over till the compression tester needle moved 5 movements. is thats correct and do those reading seem right?

P.S. the car was cold when the test was done.

#74400 That sounds right to me.

#74401 The figures you have are pretty much standard as I know, however you really need the engine at optimum temperature to achieve more precise results. But all in all sounds like your motor is healthy :thumb:

#74499 ok so i did another compression test when the motor was at running temp and the results were cycl1 160 cycl2 175 cycl3 160 and cycl4 175. does that sound healthy? cause as of right now it has a hesitation from about idle to 3000rpm and its extremly noticable when in first gear. any suggestions. anything you think could be causing this?

I wouldn't say it's the best. Did you try puttin a little oil down there just to double check?

If you have, maybe a worn head gasket and "o" rings

#74539 i dint try to put oil in the cylinders i dont know hoe much to put in... also if it is a HG is there anything more that would need to be done to fix it other than just swapping out the gaskets? by "O"rings do you mean piston rings?
