#54655 Doing it yourself is v.hard inless you've got the proper tools. Also buying decent tint. Your best bet is to get it done by a pro / company.

I know from experiance, also don't but tint spray. It leaves streaks. If you reply back saying shit then go eat a dick.

#55416 yes definitely use soapy water very little soap. It is very hard to get the tint to lay well on the compound curves of the windows. You can do it on your own however you will have imperfections and crinkles and peeling. Granted even the pros have the same problems sometimes.

#55673 The first thing to do is make sure that all windows are clean VERY CLEAN, if you leave any residue it show later on bigger that it really is. I'm not a fan of pre-cuts cause they suck eventho it says is for a certain model, they never fit correctly (especially ebay crap) I've done this to dozens of cars and have use the pre-cuts before and they suck balls...

I prefer to do a thorough clean first then an individual clean of the glass I'm working on just to make sure i get every piece of dirt and crud. Do this in a control area or in one that you don't have wind, you'll be surprise the fast that dirt got on your tint glue and later on your window will be full of bubbles.
start with the side glass it easier and gives you time to get the hang of it before doing bigger pieces.

use a spray bottle, a degreaser type 32 onz., and add water and 3 drops of dish washer soap (don't agitate) on your clean ass glass spray until wet and then lay the piece of tint on it, make sure the glue part is facing you and peel away the clear plastic protecting the glue.

Now open the door and spray the glass until very wet and carefully not to bend it (cause it'll show later) place it on the glass with the glue side facing the glass. As long as there is water between the tint and the glas you can move it without worries.

Next spray lots of soapy water on top of the tint and using a VERY SOFT PIECE OF RUBBER, especially made for tint not the autozone one, start removing the water by scraping gently the tint. Don't let it get dry or the rubber will scratch the tint, so from time to time spray water on the tint.

For curvy glass is easier if you use a hot air gun, once you do all the steps above, place the tint inside and from the outside using the hot gun blow some heat to it as you're squeezing the water out until no bubbles are visible.

For bigger pieces another sets of hands are very useful. After you finish don't crank down ur window or you'll get bubbles on it.

Hope this helps, I could've write a better write up but I'm lazy right now. :thumb:

Any questions feel free to ask.[/list]

#67136 I bought the precut kit just like you and put in on myself. I used soapy water to apply them. The hardest part of it to me is the hatchback window. Where the the wiper motor cover is, its hard to squeege the water and bubble out near it because its in the way. Also, you are constantly going over the tint to get the bubles and water out. I used a hair dryer to assist in the drying process and getting the bubbles out. Where I messed up is having the right tool to squeege the water out. I used a hotel room key which is flat and enabled me to get between the window and the trim, but if left scratches on the tint film. You can't see it from the outside, but when the sun is out, you can see it from the inside. I'm going to have the back window done by a professional, but I'm happy with the other 4 windows. I'll post some pics in a lit bit.

#67212 Please do post pix. I've been told by a pro that pre-cut tints and shit and don't actually line up.
