Ive recently been eyeballing a 1993 white EG sedan stock engine and a 5 speed. Found this place, have been doing research and i cannot wait to get this civic now. Maybe you guys can help me with my first question, should i build the d16z6 or should i save and go with an LS swap?

#44245 Depends on what you want to do with the car. If you want to get really good fuel economy then build your D16z6. If you want to have less fuel economy, but better performance then get an LS swap.

My car is my Daily Driver, I currently have a D16z6 Matched to an EX/Si 5 speed. I love it, its quick and responsive, Plus gets really good economy(39-41 on the highway). B-Block's Still get good economy, Just not as good. However I personally am going to be building an NA B20vtec, I want the Extra power it will give me..

Turbo D16s can be quick, and if you build a "Junkyard Kit" you can do it for the cheap. Good research for this is turbod16 and homemadeturbo(some porn on forums).

Both sides have there advantages. If you end up blowing up a D-Block. you can get another one for the cheap. B-blocks cost more, but make more Power. Its all upto you. Either way you cant go wrong.

one more thing, if you get the D16z6, they love to be boosted. that's the cheapest way to build a fast SOHC

x2

You'd put a hurtin to an LS with a boosted D.
