#35783 its an old muscle car trick.

It is for fitment issues with engines, or to vent out gasses if you have like a catch can. I've been meaning to do mine..i need it for my stupid catch can smoking a house.

#36093 IMO, there is no need to raise the hood if you are not running with ITB

I think it depends. If there is a need for clearance, then it might need propping. I know a few turbo guys that need the clearance for their manifolds from hitting the hood.

I'm considering it because my catch can is open atmosphere and it smokes quite a bit of oil vapors into the engine bay. When i sit in traffic, it catches up into the interior and gets me dizzy. I am leaning to propping it to vent my hood as my catch can is near the firewall. This MIGHT help vent the gases so it doesnt go into the interior.

#36498 usually when you do something to a car, it gives the car a different look. either for the better or for the worse. but in this case, raising the hood just looks like a car with a hood that doesnt fit. it seems like the hood isn't puruposefully set like that. but atleast now i know its a low-budget mod thats pretty much useless if you have a 97 civic with a gsr motor in it, lol
