#355114 So here are the pics of the Bare ECU board. Hopefully someone can help EconoBox make sense of everything. :? Econo, I PM'd you higher res pics.

#355155 PM'd you back.
But I'll post it here. Send a close up of those two capacitors in the middle closest to the connectors. Looks like the smaller one may be failing.

Sorry I didn't PM back sooner. I'm usually only logged on here while I'm at work usually have way too much going on at home to sit at the PC.

#355172 PM'd back.

Thanks to everyone who voted for me for ROTM! :D
Be sure to check out the other contestant's rides, they're all pretty awesome!

#355194 Ok so today we got a new ECU from autozone and right out of the box, it ran pretty well. The fuel pump primed right away, which is awesome because earlier today it took 15-20 minutes for the fuel pump to kick on when I had my old ECU plugged in. It ran pretty smoothly, so we brought it up to operating temperature, and then pulled the ECU fuse and backup fuse. Then we let the engine idle for 10 minutes, then turned off the car and back on, and took it for a test drive. It ran great for about 2 minutes, then ran crappy. It started jumping and lurching and losing power and backfiring a bit. When I got it home, we ran diagnostics with the jumper wire. It threw code 43, which I believe is Malfunction in the Fuel Supply System.

We've replaced the following:
Fuel Pump and Pump Filter
Fuel Pressure Regulator
Fuel Filter

The only other things I could see it being is the Fuel Sender Unit or the O2 sensor on the Headers, because that's OEM From the factory as far as I know. Someone help me out? Make sure I'm not crazy? :?

#355196 (DTC) 43: A problem in the Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) circuit or a problem in the Fuel Supply System.

Symptoms related to fuel system. Sounds like you've replaced all of this stuff already I'd go straight to checking the o2 sensor.
Rough Idle = injector problem or bad gas
Misfire/rough running = injector, fpr, or bad gas
loss of power = injector, fuel pump, or fuel filter
frequesnt stalling = fpr

If all of those things check out check you heated o2 sensor on the header. As long as your wire harness hasn't been messed with there is no need to check the wiring to the sensor which can cause the code if there is an open or short.

#355197 Awesome. I'll check out getting a new HO2S. Thanks man :thumb:

#355222 It's around $240 after tax for a Re-Manufactured one. It's cheaper to get a chipped one from Phearable.net. I'm gonna return this one and get one from there.

#355223 Well, got a new HO2S, installed it and reset the ECU. No difference
We took a look with a timing light while the ecu was in diagnostic mode and it showed that it might be a tooth off, since it's been running pretty rough when I was driving it.

#355251 Did you check the wiring to the O2 sensor? I'd check the connector and make sure its clean and none of the pins are bent.

#355252 yeah It was all good, but a little gunked, so we sprayed it with electronics cleaner.

UPDATE:
Reset the timing and tensioned the belt, and the timing was advanced one tooth. After adjusting the ignition timing and resetting the ECU, car runs and drives like a dream :thumb: couldn't be happier!!

#355258 Well, I spoke too soon. Yesterday, I drove a collective 60 miles or so and it drove fine. Today, I drove about 15, and then in 5th gear, it started running really rough, just like before. The CEL was on, so I pulled over and checked the code. Number 43 again. I'm thinking something is intermittently shutting off one of the injectors, not allowing it to get fuel.
