When I take the spark plug wires out, are the gaskets supposed to be slightly down into the tube a bit? They aren't flush with the valve cover.

#354671 When you were washing the car, did you also wash the engine?

#354971 Ok so I'm having some issues. I was drivin down the highway going about 65 in 4th gear. All of a sudden, my car jolts and starts losing power, even though my foot is still pinned on the gas. I downshift into 3rd and it's still losing power. It levels out at around 35mph in 2nd, and I drive the car off to the side of the road. While I waited for my brother to come tow me. There was no CEL. I reset the Ecu by pulling the fuse and backup fuse, then puttin it back an starting the car, letting it idle for 10 minutes. Then I turn it off, wait 5 minutes and turn it back on. Still drives terrible. I put the car in neutral and jam the gas pedal. It takes a full 3.5 seconds for the tacho to reach 5k. Very weird. I wait there and my brother start towing me home. All the time I'm being towed, I have the car idling in nuetral. While bein towed I rev the gas again, and it sounds normal. When he drops me off in the parking lot at my workplace, I drive it through the Parkin lot and it drives just like it did this morning, that's to say it drives normal. In general, it just feels sluggish and slow. Even yesterday when the car was driving fine, it had a really hard time getting up a bridge in 5th gear at 70mph. It actually Lost speed. Someone help me? Teal_dx?

#354991 Possibly as simple as tune up parts.

I'd check your fuel filter, ignition parts, and main relay (I usually open mine up and resolder all the connections on any EG I buy just to be safe)

Cap, Rotor, Plugs, Wire I'd double check that everything is in good shape> I've seen a lot of the aftermarket parts cause issues here. I'd suggest OE cap and rotor, and NGK V power plugs and NGK or OEM wires.

Thanks!

EconoBox, We just replaced the Cap and Rotor, Spark Plugs, Distributor coil, and Ignition control module a few days ago. By main relay, do you mean the fuel pump main relay?

#355017 Yeah that was the problem with the fuel pump not priming back when I needed new piston rings. we replaced it about a year ago. I'm starting to think it could be a bad ECU? It's the original P06 that came with the car way back in 1993

#355023 Pull the ECU out and unscrew the upper and lower covers and post high-res pics. If its failing its usually just a capacitor (repairable for about $2 DIY, if the board isn't damaged) I can usually tell if its bad just from seeing if its leaking which is visible in pictures.
