- Mon Sep 10, 2007 12:23 am #22788 Awrite i heve been looking at this forum for a while now and decided to register. I am 17 from falkirk not passed my test yet have it next month. I have allways loved civic hatches since i had a shot of one so i am looking to buy one. I am really want the esi with the d16z6 but insurance is to high. So i am going to buy an lsi 1.5 think use call it a dx and hopefully put the d16z6 in it. I am wundering what needs to be changed like engine mounts or is it just a straight swap also is it hard to do. cheers lovin the hatches on here.

The swap is easy, just get a manual transmission civic, converting from auto to manual is a pain...

All you do is remove the D15b7, drop in the D16z6. Remove the p06 ecu, replace it with a p28 ecu. Run 2 additional wires from the p28 ECU to the motor, and 1 additional ground wire... and you're done
Transmission, Motor Mounts, Exhaust, Axles, Header, Engine Wiring Harnesss... all will work with both motors.
