I've been looking around but no answers...i guess everyones heard that a A/c kills power but is there proof of this. I live in northern cali and during the summer it gets really hot and i want a/c and i also want performance too but is it worth the sacrifice?

a very small amount mate. its just the load that the a/c motor puts on the engine, plus if you remove it the a/c compressor is pretty heavy. stuart

the ac only uses power when its on, when the compressor is not engaged it just freewheels... robs virtually no power... n u do however save on weight...

it will decrease the value of your car to 99% of buyers if you remove the AC.
Mine never had it so I'm used to it, but if I was in the south I would want it.

it affects acceleration noticibly, when its on.
doesn't get in the way nearly as much as power steering.
i say leave it on if its still working.
it's nice to show up places without the back of your shirt all soaked.
girls pay attention to that sort of thing...

Keep in mind that 92 and 93 are R12 and 94+ is R134a. You want the latter. R12 is expensive and hard to find. Technically illegal. You can put R134a in a R12 system but it's not as cold.
