#185884 Alright so i recently bought a 1993 honda civic lx and the owner specifically told me that the belt jumped timing and squished a valve(bent valve).....now from what im told its a brand new head gasket....all it was was torqued down nothing else...my question is can i reuse this headgasket since it hasnt ever been heated or should i go new??

#185926 the only honda engine i know of that is non interferance is the h23.. but i still bent valves in a h23 due to the carbon build up on the valves and the pistons.. but ya the h23 is the only one i know of :thumb:

and if its a stock lx sedan its the d15b7 :thumb:

#185930 hmm because my sisters timing belt belt went on the highway.
i as able to replace the belt and the engine was fine.

#185940 it all really depends there are lucky times and then there are unlucky times.......

and probaly that was a lucky time. so yea my thought on the whole thing is im just gonna go ahead and replace the head with one i know should be fine may be a bad block but the heads new so yea gotta finish my buddies ef dohc zc swap first but yea hopefully soon ill get this thing up and going......i might even go ahead and have some fun and take the srs out completely and thow in an aftermarket wheel....

i gots arps or and i did this with a friends 4dr we used the z6 head bolts that arent the stupid stretch bolts.....

i thought they were all "stretch bolts" on a honda :? i use arps on everything i do... i hate the stock head bolts :thumbdown:

As far as i can tell the D15b7 has what i would presume to be stretch bolts while the z6 has a solid bolt structure...but meh im just going to go ahead and use my arp headstuds as i can find anyone to buy them ....

#186325 I don't think b7 and z6 head bolts are interchangeable.

The z6 and all Honda head bolts are stretch bolts.
