#169956 There is more to figure then just bottom end price. Buy from a Respected dealer so you dont get screwed out of your money. And so you dont get stuck with a bad engine.

Buy from either H Motors online or Tiger Japanese. Both sites seam to take care of their customers. I wouldn't recommend anyone else besides possibly your local import shop.

Since your In Cali getting one imported by a shop cant be to hard and will save you hassle is their is anything wrong with the engine, Thats worth the extra money IMO.

Also I believe that JDM Engines are not Carb legal in Cali. Just a FYI, I guess do the swap right after getting checked off for a few years, Or be prepared to bribe the officials to get your car passed emissions.

If you want to save money (and be carb legal) get a USDM B18c1 block, Install Type-R Pistons(or USDM B16 Pistons), Put on a port/polished USDM B16a Head, Add a CTR or ITR Intake Cam and BAM! You have basically have yourself an ITR Engine. Granted its not a true ITR Swap, It wont have the knife edged crank for example. However it will be a legal swap.

Good luck :thumb:

Get a USDM H22A out of a Prelude, an H2b Kit, and a B Series LSD Transmission and you will have a very very fast powerful car. Similar HP figures to the ITR Engine, However much much more torque.

#170278 just go for the "poorman's type r" go for the USDM GSR with the Type R internals. Plus if you get the JDM Type R you gotta keep in mind that you gotta smog it every two years and thats a hassle dude. you can Bar a legit GSR through the DMV which also saves the scare of getting your hood popped by cops.

Poormans Type R isnt just a GSR with itr internals. Its a GSR block with ITR pistons, b16a head with ITR cams and intake manifold.
