#150566 alright im doing the timing belt on a 95 DX
it has powersteering and a/c so it a bigger pulley
there is no spot to use a tool on it either.
sorta looks like this

how can i get it off? ive trying sticking a head bolt through the holes

#150574 Yuor best bet is to get a chain style one. loops a chain like thing around the pully and to a bar that will hold it.

Other wise impact.

#150663 Yeah Just put a beefy screwdriver through one of the holes have someone hold it against the block so it doesn't move, then use a breaker bar with a socket on the end to loosen the bolt. I recently had to do this. Worked like a charm and with minimal effort!

#150671 It's too late now, but for future, it's always easier to bust the bolt loose when the engine is in the car. You lose some torque because the engine will want to rock.

In your situation, Impact is the way to go :thumb:

#150983 okay so heres the story

after a hole day of changing the riming belt this is what came of it

getting towed off the road

the plan was to put a head bolt through the hole
our contraption to keep the pulley still

so after the last snap of the half inch drive i went to see if i broke another drive but it was the pulley nut :D


we bought and returned an air gun used cause it wasnt strong enough lol

broke 3 ratchets and about 5 extensions
lucky they all had a life time warentee
