#135676 Ok I have an EG, the cluster that i curently have its on my car which it doesn't have the RPM gauge.... im traing to switch to one with RPM, but I opened it and try doing it my self and aperantly there is a housing where the RPM goes conected and that cable is missing on my car. on the other car the conecctor its there but i do not knw where it leads.
i would like to get some information on how to do this if some one knws how.
The cluster with the RPM has a housing which I belive that makes the RPM wrk but the one I have does not have that housing .. The cable that goes connected to that housing goes somewhere but I dnt knw where.

egsedanguy wrote:should be a direct swap.. you should not be swaping the housings and shit... just get the cluster with rpm gage and just plug it in and should be fine...

Note i havnt done it, but i have been told many times and it only makes sence that it should be a plug n play.

#135971 I herd it was a plug n play too but it did not wrk.... Ok in other word I have a DX cluster and the new one it's from an LX model , and their is a cable that is on the LX model that goes conected to the cluster, and I don't have that cable on mines, so I'm train to remove that cable from the LX to put it on my DX. The problem is that I don't know where this cable lead. Can some one explain me on how to remove the cable on putting it on mines please. I got ni RPM n it SUKS !!!!!

#135979 I didn't think LX had tachs, only EX and Si :? But snap a pic of this cable and let us see it so we can help you out. There should be a tach wire already close to the cluster inside your dash that you plug in and that's it.

yup lx has tach... it has all the good fetures of an si or ex. just no sunroof and black interior. but any way what is this cabel you speak of. y is it prventing you from useing it? have you just pluged in you new tach without the cabel? i had to replace my tach in my sedan and it does not have any thing like you say...

#139334 yup, should be a direct plug n play thingy. make sure all plugs are connected tightly.

#139389 Swap the gauge to the new cluster, and screw the gauge down (grounding it).

After that, just plug it up, and your good to go.

the only difference is that there is a light block held on by i think 2 screws for an auto to tell you what gear your in.....everything else is plug n playful.....if you feel like your rpm guage isnt working try and track down a aftermarket just to borrow and get power to it and ground it and use the signal wire and attatch it to the solid blue wire behind the cluster i do beleive it to be on the left large plug and test.....if that dosent work you may have a wiring issue but if it dose and your cluster with tach dose not then its most likely the tach itself i mean our cars are getting along in their years so some things tend to wear and not work
