my car has vacuum leaks and i dont where to start

also try this
take your intake off [not your intake mani]
and start your car and cover the Throttle Body with your hand and if the car dies there is no vacuum leak but if the car doent stall/die then you have a leak somewhere

hey um yesterday i notice my car was breathing hard from intake air filter
i took the intake off and then u can here the breathing coming from throttle body

- Tue Jul 21, 2009 3:57 pm #132054 do you have a bouncing idle? vac leak will cause that. Listen for a hissing. Did you do any work to the engine recently?
Look for cracked hoses, bad TB or IM gasket

well my idle sits still wen i drive the car and come to a complete stop
my car idles drops to like 500rpm then goes up to 750-850rpm

like bounces from 700-1500

sumtimes it goes up and down but not that often

- Tue Jul 21, 2009 4:58 pm #132110 if you can't hear any hissing, and your idle isn't bouncing up and down, then what makes you think you have a vac leak?

Don't you have an IAT sensor missing on your car or was that a different motor? I'd start with the big problems that can cause your car to run poor, such as a missing sensor.
