Very black oil?

I dont think your reading what im saying.


The crankshaft that I have (which is fine) nothing was modified on it.

the OE BEARINGS that came off MY crankshaft ended up going back on exactly how they came off. MEANING the same bearings that the motor has used for 12 years looked completly fine and they were re-used.




if you cant understand let me put it to you this way. Would you still TRY ON a shoe that you have owned for 13 years and it fit you just a couple days ago? (unless a magician came by and shrunk the shoes! )

- Sat Apr 04, 2009 12:05 am #108196 ok smart one, if OEM bearings came out looking completly fine after being used for 13 years. IM SURE they can handle my next 1-2 years tops of owning the car OR rebuilding the motor. SO WHY NOT?

plus on top of that, changing the bearings is as easy as just poppin off the oil pan, pickup and the plate.... head doesnt even have to come off

thats not my point.

my point is clearances. HONDA motors in general are very precise.

as many motors that i built, have built, and helped built. and trust me this total comes over 10 + in B series engines alone.
but its ok man dont have to listen to me or the other people trying to tell you you need to check your clearances before it starts knocking.

and my reasoning for using NEW bearings VS old is simple. your already down there. just go ahead and put new bearings. Not only does it save time in the long run, it saves headaches too.

but hey you dont have to listen to me.
