- Fri Mar 27, 2009 4:19 pm #106130 im trying to put a mini-me swap in a 92 civic, but i dont have the in-car vire harness (the boddy was stripped when i got it). i do have the motor reddy with the D16Z6 hedd and motor harness but i cant find the in-car harness. so can i use the harness from a uk civic or rover, found one 1.4cc,97 model of a uk-civic that i can get for free, it has a P1J ecu. b.t.w

need help thanx.

- Fri Mar 27, 2009 4:33 pm #106131 by 97 model do you mean 1997 or something like that since 97 is obd2 and you need a obd1 harness im not sure of a rover working due to differences in interior trim there would be alot of spicing of plugs and stuff to get the desired result with that however most likeoy as long as its a non carbed /dpfi civic i think it went to 1992 with obd0 or something idk anyhow as long as its obd1 it will suite you and to be on the safe side stick with a civic harness

- Fri Mar 27, 2009 5:45 pm #106148 a uk-civic is a rover 300 or 400 or sum, and they are obd1, but that dont matter ,i will be using a p28 ecu. im only wondering about the pinout of the harness can i just plug it in and no prop on do i need to re-pin it e.c.t
its for a rallycross car so i am not using the interior at all.

there's a thread do down load the reference manual. You may need to get a Helm's manual for the individual shock tower pin out, and they may not even have it in there.

- Fri Apr 03, 2009 9:39 pm #108159 ok after 3 hrs. of work with ohm-meter i found out u can use the rover harness in a civic to run the engine for now. ecu color codes are not the same but the pinout to the right tower-plug are the same but u need to repin a few wires to the left tower-plug.
