- Mon Feb 02, 2009 10:32 pm #93840 Well the saga continues...I've been stripping and repairing my passenger side suspension for about 6 weeks now. The parts are looking good, but it is all taking me so long.
Anyway, the car is sitting in the street outside my house, 'cause I have no garage, and of course it is on two jack stands.
Well, last night, super bowl night - go steelers! - some jerk ran into my car. Probably backed into it doing a three point turn, since there are bits of tail light all around. They hit just behind the left turn signal, dented the quarter panel and cracked the signal light. Oh, and knocked the car over a foot so it is off the jack stands. ARRRRGH!':x')
So, my question is:
does any one have any suggestions on how to lift up the car and move it over so I can get the stands under it again, and so the stands will be on the street and not on the curb? I want the car to be 'parallel parked' so it does not look like a wreck, abandoned at the curb and half stripped.
I'll try to get a pic posted soon.

- Mon Feb 02, 2009 11:02 pm #93843 well id suggest if its possible for you i dont know take a jack that can roll pretty good (firstsweep to get the small pebbles outa the way jack up from teh rear tow hook round thing....for the rear and for the front there is a strengthened peice on the core support. do one side at a time moveing it slowly over.....

Did this with the si when i had it since i didnt want to keep pushing it back n forth to get it squared up

Yeah, I'm going to have to score a jack with wheels, or maybe a dolly of some kind. Hmmm. Maybe I can borrow some wheels from work. The trick will be to find a place I can lift the car from. Since both passenger wheels are off the whole side is very low, and the front half of the door is on the curb. maybe i can sneak the jack under the rear jacking point, or maybe i'll use the tow hook like you said. My first thought were of long levers and some well placed fulcrums...(read that as 4x4's and logs) lol.

if you use a floor jack with wheels you should be able to get under it, then lift it up high enough to atleast block it, and put a 2x4 on the jack and work it up until you can put the floor jacks under it.
