#93621 Well right now as i am thinking about stuff I want to well get the best bang for my buck and as of right now I do have a Hf manifold i have been cleaning however come to find out I cant seem to find a good gasket to go in between the adapter plate (havent bought yet) to the manifold....

Now also been searching ebay i know bad idea but i foudn this manifold

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/_Car-Tru ... 240%3A1318

Its got a lifetime warrenty and seems pretty well braced

And for $50 more dallors than the adapter plate would cost me which wouldnt have any gaskets what so ever.....

so what do you think should i ditch the Hf manifold and go with something like this or stick with it and try n find the stupid gaskets....

#93624 Well that sucks. :(

Have you checked with some of the sellers if a gasket comes with the plate?

Worse comes to worse you could make your own I suppose.

Or if you can weld decently you can get one of those and brace the shit out of it. :hehe:

#93626 I can weld pretty good but my buddy welds great so i would just take it to him if anything.....but yea all it says on the plates is what size thread n bolts are recommended...if anything i would go to my local metal shop n see about getting a 3/4" or at least 1/2" plate of steel to make my own but that would also entail me not having the correct gaskets...

#93651 Those braces won't hold. If you do buy that one, get some 1/2 inch thick round rod, and weld it from the head flange to the turbo flange (right along the ones that are already there) :) Problem solved. Doing that right there makes these cheap egay mani's last. I did it to one for my car, and it has NEVER cracked and it's been 8 months. Also if you get one with an external wastegate flange, weld a piece of rod from the wastegate flange to the turbo flange to support the weight of the wastegate

#93652 If you want i will run out and snapp some pics for ya. I even welded it with just a straight up MIG welder. takes like ten minutes from start to finish.

#94329 Doesn't matter how much bracing or re-welding you do. They will crack! The Steel is too thin + the weight of the turbo and road viberation.

If you do an ebay manifold get one of the cast ones, otherwise stick with the HF mani and BM-race style adaptor plate

BS :chair: lol
i dont feel like getting into the story bout how i braced and re-enforced my EBAY turbo many n last me over 2 years. but no. once you add sum nice welds and bracing ebay manis are real good and last for a long time. but that log style one ^^up there looks real good tho. BEEFY!

I call BS as well. And it's STAINLESS steel that they are made of. they use a cheap kind, if braced like i stated above the mani WILL last. TRUST ME. I deal with this stuff on a daily basis.

#94345 Not tryin to piss in your cherios but they are prone to failing. Yes it may be stainless but it's very low-end chinese crap.

They're very hit or miss. I've had 3 of them. 2 cracked even though they were braced(and re-cracked in a differant spot afterwards lol), the other one went 3 years with out an issue.

For not that much more I'd go with http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/CAST-TUR ... ccessories

There's also once place that sells a DIY ram-horn kit for ~$250 if you have some welding abalities

#94368 But did YOU brace it or get the ones with the shitty bracing?

That's what i was saying. If you take the time to weld in your own bracing it will last. I'm not against a cast mani though. I love the durablility, hate the looks.

1/4" plate and a millermatic gas mig :D SSAC and XS Power have the same design manifold. The XS power one seemed to withstand more, course I was running a Nissan t25 on it which was lighter than the .50/.63 t3 I had before

I agree the cast isn't pretty, but when someone nukes us it'll be the cockroaches and the d16 cast manifold surviving
