As for being a faster motor, N/A , it pretty much depends on your setup... stock internals b20-vtec with a b16 or equivelent head and proper fuel modifications in my personal experience will pull a stock gsr...
as for the complexities involved with a b20vtec swap, it's much greater due to the fact that you're creating an actual swap, whereas the GSR swap is pretty much a direct bolt up...
as for the price... i ordered a b16 complete swap from Osaka (this has been a few years) and a b20b long block assembly... it still ran me about $1700 less then a complete GSR swap would've, as well as me having spare parts to sell and made prolly about $800 back, so about $2500 in savings... knowing some of the fine folks i do now, i may have bought the parts off friends, but i do prefer not to buy pre-built motors, i'm a hands on person. with that being said there are things you'll need to complete the swap as well, from tapping your head (local machines shop prolly won't charge more then $30-50), buying a ls/b20vtec oil line kit ($80-150), new head gasket, and things of that sort...
IF YOU PLAN TO BOOST THE CAR, GO GSR, TRANNY IS BETTER FOR IT ANYWAY (as well as having a lil edge with thicker cylinder walls, oil squitters in crank casing, and well being a stock manufactured motor)
send me a message if you have some actual questions besides what is faster
