So about a week and a half ago my buddy and I go out to get in my civic and he notices my brake lights, all of them are on before we even get in the car. I've tried looking and feeling around up in the footwell to see if I can find something wrong, but it's cramped and I'm not sure what I will need to fix it. I disconnected the battery so the lights would go off and have left it parked. What do I need to do?

thake a look at the toop of your brake pedal where the switch for the brake lites is there should be a pice of plastic that when you let go of the brakes it pushes the switch in and turns your lites of tha same thing happened to me and it was that, if the plastic is not there theres a hole that the switch goes threw and thats wy the lights stay on.

If they light is always on its most likely related to the switch on the pedal. Check down there and see if the grommet is broken

Thanks everyone. When you got the part from Honda, did you fix it yourself and if so, how did you do it?

truthfully, when this happened to me I just took a short bolt with a flat hex head, stuck it through the hole with the head on the side where the switch button is, and then put a nut on the bolt to hold it on. I have my clutch and brake switches done like this with no problems. (I only did this because I had bolts laying around).
