#66235 whats up everyone.. little update

compression test coming end of this weekend.. some issues with idling.. i fear it might be valves or ringlands..

anyways if that is it, i'm down with the car.

I already sold the wheels, in the process of selling the suspension, exhaust, recaros etc.. etc.

it will be easier to sell the car with less "expensive" items than to sell it right now with the turbo and etc.

sad day but I can't deal with a car that isn't that reliable anymore. :( Everyday I fear i will blow up with the abuse i throw at it haha.

#66253 Ive just read this build from start to finish and all I can say is what a car, I cant believe after all the hard work, time and money spent on this car you would want to sell it, its an absolute stunner.

I know my civic has a huge sentimental value in my eyes, and it is no where near as high spec as yours.

All I can say is good luck in whatever you choose to do

#66442 Damn Derek, sad to hear about selling, but i know what you mean, that is mainly the reason why i'm wary of doing motor work, minor bolt ons are fine but major work can lead to problems with reliability issues even when done right, and well... i want my car to be reliable one day to the next. good luck with everything man

#66466 why not just get a nice ls set up? its cheap and a semi upgrade? dont do a full part out / sell

#66479 I hear ya on the reliability, its nice to know that you will get to work every day with no hitches. You could always build a Reliable eg, a beautiful DD.

Thats a plan Derek. Thats what the wife is doing with her coupe. She is just gettng a z6, chipped ecu, I/H/E, MSD external ignition setup and a tune. With a boat load of exterior and suspension parts. Keeps the reliability of a DD yet looks good with a touch of pep and handling. Dont want to bring it up but keep us in the know. I am sure there are a ton of us that would like some parts if you decide to bring the car to its... UNWANTED and UNDESERVED death.

#66918 the main focus is to buy a new Z6 if there are problems... i just got internet again. Just moved into a new apt.. The biggest problem isn't much that reliablity is cumbersome, its more that the car is rather a hassle to park ANYWHERE. I freak for cops, I freak for thieves.

I do want to venture to a BMW but it might not be for a year. For now I will get rid of the parts I have that I can live without (at least so I think haha)

#66919 damn ur getting rid of that beauty after all that work and love put into it!? :o that must be tough! i cant imagine getting rid of mine. so how was it unreliable after u fully rebuilt the engine!? shouldnt it be bullit proof? :?

#66929 nothing is ever bullet proof. no matter how well your engine is built, anything can go wrong. I might be being superficial but i think there might be some issues but I hope I can sort them out.

#68611 still waiting on a friend's leakdown tester and when i got time to do it. School and work and being my birthday this past thursday got me a little tied up.

My valve cover is puffing out ALOT of blowby and I'm pretty curious what is causing my rough idle as well. I hope the engine is okay. :(

But this signals the time to replace the engine with a BONE STOCK D16Z6 again and see what I can do with that. I might have to put back in A/C again hahaha

Once I find another D16Z6, its time for some parting out. Oh thats going to be interesting.

#69582 Compression test goes as shown.

165-165-165-115

Leakdown goes as show 8%-7%-9%-80%

:( there goes my motor.

I believe its the rings.. but at this point, I am looking for a stock D16Z6 to replace it with now.
