#63599 Hello everyone, this is my first post and topic here. I have an EG hatch, and I live in Europe. However, I have some problems with my power door locking when I swich-on the alarm. I am using a chinese actuator for the driver's door, since I have an original actuator on my passanger door.

A few days ago an idea striked me - what if I buy an original power door lock actuator from a honda, that was produced for the UK market? I was thinking about it, but I am not informed well and I can't make it clear in my head. I want to do that, because the passanger p.d. actuator on the UK civic should fit instead of my drivers door lock. This way I'll have an original power door locking mechanism. I want to do that, because the chinese one I am using now is HUGE, and since I have some mods on the back of my door plates, it gets stuck and won't lock or unlock the door if I am using the car alarm.

So, I don't know if you understand what I am trying to do - I want to install an original power door actuator on the driver's door, because there is non on the stock version of the car.

I am veeery sory if you can't understand what I am trying to say, but I am not from USA and I don't think I can express myslef the proper way. Anyway, I think you'll get the idea, and if you don't - ask, I will try do explain.

#63623 why do you have that?...is your car originally power door car?. if so get another door harness and actuator and anything else you may need. and go from there. take the old stuff out and put the new stuff in.

#63656 Well,yes, it is a power door lock car, but on the EG's, at least here in EUROPE versions, the power door is only the passenger door, because it is meant to lock along with the driver's door, but not lock itself with the alarm. Is your driver's door with an actuator originally? Because for all I know, the power door locking is meant to lock the passenger door when you lock the driver's door with the key, isn't that correct?

#63675 on our american civics (Left hand drive) our door panels have the locking switch for L/R doors on the driver side (left side) and the passenger is just the handle and the lock no switch for it.

#63685 Obviously you don't understand. First of all, I live in Bulgaria, where we are also left hand driving. Second of all - I didn't mean any buttons or levers or switches. I meant the mechanisms, the locking assemblies that lock the door... I can't express properly :(

are you saying that just the passenger door has the only power door lock while the driver side is manual? like you have to lock it your self or by key?

#63740 I know what he's talking about but I've never seen it on a Honda. Only on cheap cars like a Hyundai. There's no actuator in the driver's door, just the passenger side. There's no power door locks and no keyless entry. I think it's pretty useless. You turn the key in the driver's side and it locks/unlocks the passenger side or all the doors in a sedan.

You'll need to install an actuator in the driver's door. Because of the cost of parts it makes sense to install an aftermarket actuator, especially if you already have a keyless entry alarm. I recommend a DEI (Directed Electronics) actuator.

However I can see why you want to use stock parts and keep it clean. If you're willing to pay the cost and do the extra work then more power to you. You're going to need a door panel, a door lock motor module, and the actuator/latch mechanism. You'll need all the stock wiring. You need the relay that goes in the fuse box.

#63748 Yes, exaclty, like the cheap cars... I don't know why my car is that way, but I know for sure, that it is bought like that. However, i got an actuator in my door even in this moment, but it is like that one:

Can anyone post a pic of what should stand there instead of mine? I will order it, I NEED to be stock.

But... are your civics Originally with actuators in the driver's door?!

#63752 I can't see where is the actuator lock into the right door of the car, so I assumed, that it is located ON the machanism itself:

It is not the same car, but I couldn't find pictures of an EG... but I think you get it. The thing in the center of the picture - the one with the screws on it? I think, or at least I thought that there was located the original STOCK actuator for the right door.

You recommend me DEI actuator. So, what is the difference between the one I got now, and the one you recommend? Is it worth the money, because I have to order it from E-bay, and have it send internationally to Bulgaria - the thing will cost about three times the one I now have. But if you say its worth it - I will order it.

#63837 The DEI actuator I recommended is similar to your first image but don't have that large cylinder.

The factory actuator is integral to the latch. In the center of your second image is the outside of the latch. Stick your head inside the door and look at the inside.

#63907 Last night this non-stock thing pissed me off real bad! :x
I Re-installed it, but it won't work because of the little metal thing, that holds the arms of the actuator and the lock together. The door panel pushes it tide to the door, and the actuator won't moooove! :x
I dedicated FRIDAY as the day that this problem is going to get away, because this is the third time I disassamble the door for it! I am going to figure out I way to fit it the best way I can, alothough I don't know how this could happen! :roll:

I reeeealy want the factory actuator, but I don't know where I can get one. I wish I lived in the USA, so I can solve this problem in less than a DAY.

From all the googling I did, I realized, that the COUPE version - EJ - has this factory actuator.
