#62023 if you want vtec, it is.
p28 = p06 w/vtec.
just be sure its not a 'botched' job.

What kind of chip is it? Do you need a chip?

Most Hondas don't need chips unless you have A LOT of work done on your engine. All it will do is mess with the sensor readings and most likely mess up your idle and lower your MPG.

I am afraid I have to disagree with you. Even if you only have Intake, Headers and Exhaust on your car, It will run better with a Good tune on a Chiped ECU over a Stock P28.

Running your car on ecu tuned for another engine isn't the best idea to run on for long.

I recommend to get that chipped p28 and go to a tuning shop and get a stock p28 Base map installed on it. Most Tuning shops locally will do that for free as it takes them 5mins and costs them nothing.

#62242 You can never trust a "chip" because you don't know what was put on it. People think you can just add a little timing, add a little fuel, burn it, and sell it on ebay. Then your car knocks and blows black smoke and you wonder why you LOST power.

I'd say that 99.99% of the calibrations put on these chips are pure crap. .01% get lucky. I've seen a lot of tuning jobs by so-called tuners. You look at the maps and you wonder what the heck the person was thinking! Were they drunk?! You can't tune an engine without having the actual car on the dyno. There is no way to guess what will make more power. You'll be surprised that leaning out fuel increases power as often as richening it up does.

If you need a P28, sell your P06 and buy a stock unmolested P28.

#62274 xenocron is very good. i've been running a chipped p06. that i socketed and v-tec converted myself. the chip is from them and you can tell a lot of difference from the p30 i was running. i am happy with it. i had one from phearable that was botched though

#62292 Ive had stock p28 and a chipped p28 on the same motor. They only thing the chip did for me was lower Vtec engagement, other than that, it made no difference in the performance over the stock tune. i got the chipped ecu for 100 bucks and didnt have to trade or give up anything else. That and the water that flooded my hatchie fried my stock ecu. all I could find to replace it was the chipped one.
