#58079 OK so here it is.....My first DIY thread....Installing the JDM SIR rear interior in an EG.

First we hve to get rid of your stock rear interior.....all of it....down to the frame...should look like this
but different color probably
Image

Next we have to take out the USDM seat brackets....they are spot welded so drilling them out with a spot weld bit
there are three brackets two fo the top shoulder part of the seat here
Image

And the center bottom bracket here
Image

They all gotta go.....

Now we install the JDM bracket...it is three pieces and looks like this..
Image

If you didnt get this bracket with your interior I hear there are place who will fabricate one for you
check Honda tech for vendors

When put together it will look like this (but in the car of course)
Image

Next we test fit this bracket in the car and used a marker to trace it off and mark it all up
Image

Always grind down and clean up the areas you are going to spot weld on
Image

Next we fit the bracket and hammered it down for a snug fit
Image

Now we spot welded it down
Image
Image

Next we test fit the backs of the seats...marked off the bolt holes where the seat bolts down
and drilled holes there. (Note anywere we drilled into the car we gave a quick shot of primer
just to protect the exposed metal
Image

Now this next part is open to your own ideas but the best idea we came up
with was placing the bolts for the seat brackets into the holes (nice and snug)
And welding thme in so the bolt just screws into them...

Image

Now just drop the interior in and bolt....TA DA!!!

Please keep in mind we are not professionals....just enthusiasts like everyone else.

What did you use to take the brackets off... you said a spot welder tool, wtf is that? I wanna take my braqckets off but al I've got is a chissel, and I don't wanna hack the shit out of it and make a mess. :?

Oh and great DIY write up :thumb: I'm sure the hardest part is finding the stuff first.

I LOLd on this post. Great JDM Gathers interior write up. I see you have the side panels as well. Why didn't you include their installation in your post? If you have some pictures, please do.
