Finally...a "Build" Thread -hit a deer oct 2015-

- Mon Jul 23, 2012 3:20 am #311666 did a little on the bay earlier. reran a bunch of wires in the bay and used small zipties to bundle them together so it looks more like a wiring harness than a bird nest made of wires.

new cam cover i shaved completely and sprayed it with undercoating to give it some texture then flat black paint.(dark spot is oil i got on it before the pic)

took the battery out and painted the tiedown, tray, and under the tray.

repainted the entire bay with a fresh coat of flat black to freshen it up

- Sat Jul 28, 2012 1:26 pm #312182 theres been this slight exhaust rattle for quite a long time now. im gunna guess last year? had to be after i had the exhaust off in october because i checked the whole thing for any problems then. anyway it was only at certain rpms and not all the time just here and there now and again.

last week it got worse pretty much all the time and the cat started scraping more than usual :?

so i got the car up in the air yesturday

it was just barley hanging in there! :lol: it broke and sagged down to somewhat seal itself back up so i didnt hear an exhaust leak whatsoever or i would have checked it out months ago. i just figured it was vibrating against a heat sheild or something. :?

got her all welded back up redid the exhaust supports those black rubber things... they were worn in half from dragging :lol: i didnt have any to replace them so i used some thick gauge wire so theres more clearance. heres a shot of the cat lol

the car is ridiculously unsafe looking at the ride height and suspension.

as per the photos, i am curious why you dont do a budget job on fixing up the body when you paint it. it would look a LOT better if you did.

anyway, just my constructive criticism, and i have not said anything bad about the car at all.

- Wed Aug 01, 2012 1:25 pm #312473 I think the point is that you can do whatever you want to your civic to make it yours. Do it for yourself, not for others. This build stands out because of that and this car is constantly changing :thumb: Some will hate it, others will love it (like me)

as far as this build its nice cause he doing it himself i give props to that, i have no skills or time to do what this guy done so there would be no hate on behalf.

as for the comment about car is too low & unsafe. OH please low life is where is @ just cause u cant drive a lower car don't hate on others its an art to drive low

i personally like trailertrash's car. its different, and that's not something you really see anymore.

- Wed Aug 01, 2012 7:21 pm #312502 when i first read through this build thread INSTANTLY said this car is not for me...but on the other hand i hold alot of respect for this build. cars like this stand out and the people who build them are the kind i wanna get to know...they do it for themselves like it should be done... :thumb: to this build and :thumb: for not changing it back to the "stock look" when you get haterism...

Which in turn makes his Coupe in my opinion a work of Art. I enjoy going threw the topics of all Civic-Eg crew members and seeing what others come up with. Sometimes people even wanting to do the same to there's which should make people feel great. If you did read the part where his suspension was a little out of wack, I think Robster pointed it out. He did fix that.

So you can critique his car, but remember its his car and he can do whatever he wants. :thumb:

i did do a budget job on the body. id say 50 bucks for a paintjob is in the budget for an $800 car.

all the money i have into paint wouldnt even get me the cheapest macco paint job.

thats what im going for. its not some high dollar build its a rusty old pile of shit that just happens to run well.

ive done nothing to my suspension that half the beater cars on stanceworks and similar sites havent already had done.

and critique away :thumb:
