#281089 Got my axles, thanks to one of my friends for purchasing them for me. Took today off so I could put them on because I'm tired of driving a not-super-safe car around. Plus I'm going to San Antonio tomorrow and don't want to hear it clacking the entire way.

This will be my second time changing axles and probably the first time changing them alone..*Crosses fingers*, I'm good with suspension so this shouldn't be too bad. We'll see.

#281526 Ok so little update..purchased the axles and was going to do them Friday but didn't want to work on them without a friend near by incase I got stuck on something and needed help..Well everyone was busy so I didn't do it.

Saturday was the day we were leaving to go to San Antonio. Went and picked up two friends and by the time we were heading down to meet up with everyone else, the axle started getting worse and the whole car was shaking. So I decided it needed to be changed out then. Went back to the house and started working on it only to find that the axle nut was NOT going to come off. Broke two ratchets in the process..so we put everything back on and drove over to a friends house to use his air tools. Well, his impact gun didn't want to do the trick and it wasn't a heavy duty one. So went to Sears and bought myself a nice one and came back. Still wouldn't come off. Tried everything to get it off and it wouldn't. Then went and got an impact 32mm socket to use instead of the regular one. That didn't work. Finally one of the guys decided just to sit down and chisel it off. So what should have taken like 30 minutes at most, took 4 hours. >.< Finally got the new axle on on the passenger side (still need to do the drivers side but it wasn't having the issues). Well, sad thing is when we got to my friends house, the axle broke when we were getting ready to pull it off. So had I put this off any longer, I would have gotten into a wreck on the freeway.

^stupid nut >.<

Going to be swapping out the drivers side sometime this week *hopefully*. Then gotta figure out where the vibration is coming from cause yet again the car is having some issue and it vibrates while I'm driving. :-/

My impact gun is a craftsman.

#281875 I had to do the same only a few weeks ago.

Broke 2 ratchets, tried to chisel it off, didnt work. Got the shits with it so I took it to a mechanic, but yeah those axle nuts are a bitch to get off.
