#25601 im not a big fan of top speed i prefer quicker acceleration so would a gearbox from a smaller engined civic fit and would it make any difference to my acceleration which can chuck out a 8 second 0-60 sprint as it is now?

#25802 Your gears are already among the shorter ones, mines has really long gears as its not built for speed, the esi has shorter gears

Stripping it bare will help a lot

#25808 your only hope to gain speed quickly wiht that motor is to hybrid your tranny. Search for Transex tranny page and find out what gears to grab from various D series trannies to get a closer ratio.

#25933 Tiny wheels will help too!

Might mess up your speedo but small wheels with as low a profile as possible is another way of cheating and getting faster acceleration

#25961 Here are some tranny bits that can help.

http://www.knology.net/~jediklc/gearratiosdseries.htm

http://home.cinci.rr.com/mistab0ne/tranny.html

http://www.d-series.org/forums/showthread.php?t=15997

and the best bet for that is D-series.org. then go to th tranny section.

#27687 I personally would not drive arround in a stripped hatch for any reason again. I did for a while and it was supremely crappy. th weight savings isnt worth it to me. Ill keep my carpet, door panels, front and rear seats and rear panels. Ive never had a spare so I dont have that. But its just flat annoying driving arround in my car with no interior. Didnt help me with the speed either. just gave me more headaches.
