#24314 Allright, an update I've been waiting a long time for... worked hard to prepare the car for my future performance...

A friend of mine had a complete B16A2 swap for me, available next weekend.
Swapping it will be done somewhere within 2 or 3 weeks.
Not sure were it will be done, another friend of mine offered to do it at a guy who can weld like crazy, so that would open the door to my long wanted custom rollcage...

It's not entirely a B16A2 by the way; the block and head themselves are B16A1, everything else is OBD1 A2.
I don't mind 'the tick', some A2 lma's will solve that in the near future.

So, I hope you can guess I'm happy!!

#27439 Received my new mudguards today, I immediately put 'em on.
But they fit like any other non-OEM part; like crap :banghead:
So I'll be paying the Honda dealer a visit later, to get some nice-fitting, high-quality OEM mudguards.

Also, got some tyres on the 15" steelies, put them on as well, had to remove the Speedlines for the mudguard-drama, so could just as well put these on.
So I'll be refurbishing the Speedlines later on this year, one of the hubcaps is missing, unfortunately.
So I also have to pay the Renault dealer a visit :stupid:

Sorry for the crappy pics, it's a bit cold outside, so my hands were shaking like crazy...

For those who're interested; they're 7th gen Civic steelies, 4x100 and offset 45, even the hub-diameter is EXACTLY like a... 10yr older Civic :up:
Also nice to see what 'extreme' lowering does to your camber :retards:

Also some news on the B16 swap;
I ordered a new timingbelt, spanner and waterpump, also we're going to check valve timing, so that'll be one fresh B16 when dropped in :eyes:

#32356 Haven't been here in quite a while I see :thumbdown:

Yeah, now happy with B16!!

First, I ordered some cool looking hoodpins, installing them was nerve wrecking (how would you feel to put a Dremel in your 600 euro/850-900 dollar c/f hood!!), but worth it ;)

Fits perfectly, the hood no longer wobbles in the wind, wich gave me a pretty uncomfortable feeling... that's all over now :)

Story of wednesday 11-28;
Started unplugging the D15 at about 09.10 hour, and at about 10.00 hour the D15 was standing where it should be; several feet away from my Civic.

After that, I began doing some things to the B16 and the car, like
- removing the ECV, directing vapors from the blackbox now going directly to the catchcan,
- removing the throttlebodyheating, so it's now directly linked to the EACV, nice and cold air coming through the t/b
- installing a new oilfilter
- installing a new fuel filter

Unfortunately, the oilpressure sensor is giving me troubles;
it's an aftermarket thing, and meant to be wired to an oilpressure gauge...
It's kind of f*cked, because the light keeps on half (when we were starting the car without the ignition hooked on, to get oilpressure, the light was on fully, after that just half)

Early afternoon, the B16 itself was installed, al we needed to do was wiring, to put oil in the tranny and engine, get the coolant in, etc. etc.

At about 1700h, the engine was up and running for the first time in my car, after a short testdrive, we had to check ignition timing, and that was when things went wrong...
When trying to plug the device on to one of the sparkplugwires, a sp.pl.wire came of... after idling on three cilinders the car just died... wouldn't start either.
After replacing the often problems causing ignition module in the ignition; no results... after replacing the bobin in the ignition; it ran again.
So did some work on ignition timing afterall, it was now about 1900 hours.

Items replaced on the B16/Civic;
- thermostat (new)
- oilfilter + oil + tranny oil (new off course)
- fan switch
- fuelfilter (nieuw)
- ignition (and later on the bobin and ignitionmodule)
- timingbelt/spanner/waterpump (less than 20k km ago)
- sparkplugs and wires (nieuw)
Now that's what I call a fresh B16 :woot:

Things I did last week;
- cleaned the EACV
- got some air out of the p/s system
- spraypainted the valvecover in matte black + transparent high gloss
- properly cleaned the t/b
- installed a breatherfilter on the oilcatchcan (no fumes in my intake any more!)

With the stock header, it already has some damn good performance, though a tri-Y is yet to be ordered.
Tried top speed; over 230 km p/u, where the D15 stopped at a bit under 210.

Okay, the vids are crap, but it gives you an idea of how it sounds, how it's running :)

I painted the valvecover;

There still is a problem with idling, probably the EACV, or a vacuumleak...
I'll be sorting it out on thursday, at the company that I went to, to get the swap done.
We'll be revising my rear calipers as well, and installing new rear discs and pads.
When there is time, we'll be reïnstalling my a/c system, as it has some benefits I don't want to miss.

I also ordered some goodies;
- Skunk2 solenoid cover
- Skunk2 triple ring cam seal
- eGay C-pillarbar (gunmetal)
- USDM 3rd brake light (not available in Europe)
- USDM taillights
Thanks to low pricing in the States, ánd a formidable exchange rate, it only cost me a few tenners to get this delivered here :lol:

Wich is also ordered;
EDM Accord Type R calipers and rotors (redrilled to 4x100)
OEM Honda Civic glass sunroof (in stead of metal rusty one)

Next year;
- paintjob, probably R83 red (in stead of R81), and the roof will be NH503-P
- boost

How about that for an update ey? :lol: :lol: :lol:

#32496 Thanks guys!
Took me a couple of sigarettes to calm my nerves enough before cutting into the hood.
But it was really simple, it's just glasfibre with a carbonfibre toplayer.
So don't mess up the top, but you can easily fix the rest for cheap :lol:
