- Tue Jan 04, 2011 4:50 am #231308 In my opinion, and I'm not a turbo guru by any means, but you would be better off to just go and get a proffesional tune. I've heard weird problems arise with turbo setups, tunes usually solve the problems 9 out of 10 times. Go get the tune.

Yeah I agree, but the dyno shop sent me a base map that it should run with. (but not hitting vtec or boost, just idle.)

I want to make sure everything is RIGHT before I take it to the dyno, that way I'm not working on the car while it's sitting on the dyno. That gets expensive.

I just decided I would put it back together since I didn't get a response here or on the other forum I'm on, the timing looked good to me I just wanted a second opinion. Also, the plugs were pretty black so I clean them and gave her a go....

As of right now, the car will crank and run for about 1-2 seconds then die...WHY??????? I recorded a video this time, uploading it now to youtube,BRB!

also yea i wouldnt take it to A dyno not running. that would prob end up costing more money than throwing parts at it.

maybe its the base map? where did that come from?

maybe try throwing a b20 ecu ecu in it for a minut and see if it will even stay running for more than 2 seconds with it in.

The base map came from a shop in TN, called DynoSpeedRacing.

a bad basemap could be the base of your problem.....air/fuel ratio...that sorta thing. Frankensteins are better off left to a professional dyno session, rather than basemaps..then its turbocharged...that chnges a lot. These motors need to be meticulously built and tuned in order to run correctly and effieciently/reliably. I hope you solve this soon I know how it is to be without a ride.

Yea, it's possible. But with this base tune the car should atleast idle,right? I'm just worried that if I take it to the dyno the way it is now, we'll spend 3-4 hours trying to fix whatevers wrong rather than tuning it... ....If I can get the car to idle, I'll strap it to a trailer and head straight for the dyno!

Don't trust Hondata's wiring diagrams for the resistor box,(if your using injectors that require a resistor box) I wired mine exactly how the website said and it was wrong!

I still have a long way to go,like exhaust leaks,redo some of the wiring I done in a more permanent way, ect...BUT

Can I get a *WOOHOO* for a idling b20 vtec turbo???????????????????[/b]
