- Sat Nov 06, 2010 5:23 am #221825 So i pull out the old cluster and go to put in the new one and notice the green plug on my stock one is different from the one with the tac and the plug itself wont fit. Regardless, i hooked the cluster up(and just left the green one hanging) to make sure it works, drive for a mile and everything works. I got back home, turned off the car then cranked it back up and my RPMs started loping. WTF...So apparently you have to have the green plug plugged in or else your car will lope when you start it? Can anyone explain why this would happen???

- Sat Nov 06, 2010 5:35 am #221826 Green is not required. that is i believe to be cruise control should have Yellow and Green at the bottom and 2 big plugs one on each side. those are the ones you need plugged in. the 2 bottom plus the SRS (yellow) and Green (cruise) are not needed to be plugged in.

- Sat Nov 06, 2010 5:58 am #221829 i read that on all of the DIY topics regarding this but people also said that they didnt even have the green plug. On my stock cluster, the green plug controls the PRND4D312 lights being that it is an automatic. Do you have any idea why the rpms would lope without it being plugged in? I even plugged all of the plugs except for the green one back into the stock cluster and it did the same thing. could it be a ground that is wired in or something that is causing it to lope?

cars with out cruise dont have the green plug.

to my knowledge the (Auto PRND21) should be wire into the gray plug?

Both Auto and manual clusters are the same

if you take apart the Manual cluster on the Gas/temp side (LX/Si/EX/VX) you can see the spot on the back of the gauge itself its stamped for the the Auto PRND21 but its covered.

as far as it loping. might have to check your IAC? or wiring? do you have a little more detail to it?
