D series vs B series?

B16, B18, B20

- Wed Nov 03, 2010 8:47 am #221320 If you allready have D16z6 and are on a budget i whould say stay with it. Those little D's have a lot of potential when you know what your doing.

Swap another OEM stock piston in there do some head work get a cam, a good header and tune that thing. All that under the price of a B-swap.

of course drag racing has plenty to do with the driver no body is arguing that point at all. what is being stated in the above posts are that if 2 equally talented drivers raced that a d16 would take the b16 9/10 times, wich is to say, pathetic for the b16 since it is a dual cam and easily 2 to 3 times the price of the z6.

what it comes down to is that we are not recomending a b16 to the OP. we are recomending a bigger liter b-series or a slightly built D over a b16.

- Thu Nov 04, 2010 8:07 pm #221608 im not sure how, or why you think a d16 will take a b16. they both make about the same torque, but the b makes more power and has a shit load better tranny. if your bolt on d is beating the b then the b driver sucks ass.

LMFAO!!! now we are talking about a b16a3 here right. bone stock nothing sdone to it.. sounds a bit far fetched to me. JDM ITR's BONE stock in JDM form does 14.7 in the quarter mile and thats with a 75lbs JDM driverrr..

i have had a b16a and can say they are slow. if the 3 people with b16s my z6 has beat suck at driving i must be mario adretti. (or however its spelled)

and im not basing my statement on my own experiences i see b16s being taken by z6 all the time. i did say they are stock for stock, obviuosly a built b16 will take a sohc. and yes a b16 has more hp i dont know how they are slower than a z6 but i have yet to see one beat a z6. i also didnt say they get creamed by the z6 iether but they are getting beaten
