was the craigslist engine now re-buildable? i remember you had hella issues with that z6, weird it was the injectors at that time

i totally know what you mean about the landlords and associations douchebags, they dont even want you changing your oil let alone swapping an engine...oh no it might ruin the ground, pffffft.

dude, i want a 99-00 EX sedan soooooooo bad, i wanna dump my engine in it and roll with A/C, moonroof, 4 doors and boost

wow man, what the hell? this thing really does eat engines..

did the z6 bottom end just let go right after you swapped it? and is this the 2nd or 3rd b7? and where do you keep getting engines from?

so i'm assuming you just don't drive this guy very much

History of Engine Swaps:

1) D15b7(1) - Stock D15b7 It came with that lost a valve driving to portland. Smoked when I got it.
2) D16z6(1) - DoA Engine from Craigslist
3) D16z6(2) - D16z6 bottom end from Purple Coupe and head from D16z6(1) Didn't Start, Turned out to be bad fuel injectors.
4) D15b7(2) - Pulled from my Red Sedan. Was going to drive this until I put in a rebuilt d15b7 or ls swap
5) D15b7(3) - D15b7(1) With head pulled from a Junked Car, Put the Intake Manifold from the D16z6(2) on it. It Pulled like a champ, However also smoked like one. Bad Valve Guides in head
6) D16z6(2) - Since I figured out the fuel injectors where the issues I swapped this engine back in agian and figured it desirved another chance. Ran 30 seconds before the cam stopped spinning bending valves.
7) D15b7(2) - Put this engine back in so the car moves under its own power. It runs fine, Has a CX Transmission so it gets good fuel economy however the water pump is going out and makes an annoying whine.

The D16z6 head is what went. the cam gear has a cotter key built into and that sheared off.

This was driven for maybe 20 mins after the 7th swap. Then it Sat, and still sits currently, In the same spot it sat when it was waiting for a new engine about a year ago. It will be there until I get a new place that's home owner association isn't such anti-car duchebags.

I'm Very Discouraged by how the car spits out swaps. I dont find myself wanting to work on this at all, especially with the Delsol as my current daily. Part of me is very tempted to Swap out the Denjis with stock headlights and Sell the car, then sell the Denjis on here with all my Extra EG/Sedan/Coupe Parts. If I do sell it I'm going to Try to get a 99-00 EX Sedan.

I hear you about being discouraged i havent really touched my hatch due to all the work it seems to be needing ever time i fix something theres something else and my car also spits out swaps however of coarse me wanting more dosent help either i did have a nice b7 swap in it but it wasnt my car anyhow all i see there is sohc swaps maybe your sedan is telling you it wants a dohc lol maybe a dohc zc or b series....

- Fri Jul 02, 2010 6:31 am #202921 Its no Secret I wanted a 99-00 Sedan to make into a VIP Baller, I even posted a Photoshoped version of what I wanted to make in my old hatch thread. I had my Buddy over today and after ordering some Delsol Parts we where chilling and talking about what builds we want to make.

When we started talking about what I wanted to build and talked about my Desire to make a 99-00 Sedan VIP Build. Then about what possibilities it would take to make my 93 sedan chillin in my drive way to become that said VIP Baller. After looking up some DIY projects of putting in a 99-00 CTR Dash into an EG, and the 99-00 Front clip onto an EG DIY.

We decided instead of stripping my mods, selling them, and then ultimality the car and getting a 99-00 EX Sedan just to mod this sedan into what I want.

New VIP Build list:
>- 99-00 Front Clip conversion (owned)
>- 99-00 Carbon Fiber Hood (owned)
>- 99-00 Dash Conversion w/ all working electronics (owned)
>- Install DVD Player into said 99-00 Dash Conversion (owned)
>- Install 99-00 Sedan Seats (owned)
>- Tint Windows
>- Install Adjustable Coils (need to get)
>- Install Camber Kits (need to get)
>- Adjust suspension to have a "flush" Look to it. Not "Hella Flush" where people can use their brains to figure a 0 offest rim 9" wide rim doesn't fit on an EG, But rather having 16" Rota J Spl's look "flush"
>- Install a Coupe Rear window "Wing"/Cover (need to get)
>- Install Spoon Style C/F Mirrors (need to get)
>- Support Civic-EG.com and get another Civic-EG Sticker to go in the rear window (Orderd)

I know lots of people on here dont like front end conversions, However IMO the 99-00 Front clip is the best looking on a Sedan or Coupe. Having the newer front clip makes EG's look so much newer and nicer IMO.

This is how she sits currently.

Recently I did a good deal of maintenance, and got the Sedan Prepped for a Washington Winter. Fixed some Wiring, put in new climate control unit(w/ ac buttons this time ) But in a Radiator that doesn't leak, Etc.

Plans for any of the 99-00 Civic parts are not going to happen as I am Repairing the would be parts car.

Plans that contune to happen are as follows:
>- Prep for Paint, I.E. Pull Dents, Bondo over dings, etc
>- Paint Electron Blue Pearl(b95P, 99-00 Si Blue) Will happen before end of 2010.
>- Tint Windows
>- New Suspension, Most likely Ksport Kontrols.
>- Camber Kits front and rear.
>- Set Flushness.
>- Install DVD Player w/ Nav into passwordjdm.com optional Center Console
>- Coupe Rear Wing/Cover
>- Swap in D16z6 that was originally in my 95 Delsol Si, However keeping the CX/VX Transmission for epic fuel economy.
>- Intake Piping, and headers for the D16z6 Swap. Maybe Exhaust however as its a Daily driver most likely not.

Working on getting a used Hatch Carbon Fiber hood from a Friend once he upgrades to a new one. Its seen better days but it would still be awesome to have an EBP and a CF hood to be able to swap between.

Went to the Local Napa Autoparts store and got me some b95p paint mixxed up.



This is a Spare Sedan fender I had from my old winter beater before I scrapped out the shell. This is just Paint before Clear.

Story Time:
We got my Paint gun all calibrated and dialed in what we want it set to then Shot the Spare Fender in Duplicolor Primer. After waiting for it to dry, we wet sanded it, let it dry then Busted out the EBP, Mixed the paint and the hardner together and sprayed the Fender.

After the EBP Dried, we then shot clear coat and set it out to dry just like the above picture. When me and my friend helping me where congratulation ourselves on how good it came out the wind came and knocked the fender off the box and face down into the grass.

It looked as good as the professionally done EBP on the EK Hatch. It looked awesome. I wont be redoing this as its just a Test to dail everything in before setting to work on a Car.

In the next few Weeks the Sedan should be rocking a nice new shiney EBP Coat.

OEM Style Red/Clear Tails. One of those things I have been meaning to get for a good while.

I will try to get them installed tomorrow, As well as few other goodies that I have been meaning to get installed.

how much for these ? i've been looking quite a while for these tails..in my country it's so expensive...how much are those?

Electron Blue Pearl off the 99-00 Civic Si is my Favorite Blue ever. I have been wanting to Paint the Sedan this for a while and now is the Most Logical time as I had to buy some to Paint the Hatch anyways.

so hot, cant wait for the results.

I'm Super pumped on how it will turn out. Cant wait for my next day off work. So I can get started on the Body and Prep work.
