#210284 ok so i was bored and decided to put some fog lights in my car, so i got them all mounted up and working :woot: and i leave em on for a while and out they go so i figure i had a short but check all connections and wiring and all is good.

so i check the fog fuse[15A] and its popped so replace it and still no luck, so then i notice that i no longer have DRLs so i start checking fuses and sure enough i popped the fuse [10A] so put a new one in and still nothing, also replaced the second DRL fuse[7.5A] for good measure and still no DRL

after a little research i believe the power source [1 of the 5 single prong option outlets above the ATC fuses] i was using on the fuse block was tied into the DRL fuse circuit, all in all i dont much give a shit whether or not i have DRLs as my headlights and everything still works from the switch but i would still like to know what i screwed up, and tomorrow im going to go and get one of those solder on dummy fuses for drawing power for the fogs

however on the plus side i noticed a blown fuse that controlled my A/C which hasnt worked since i bought the car and its now blowing real nice and cold

thanks

#210430 does the cluster light up still?

#210466 yep everything still works, except the DRLs but i stopped by the wrecker today and along with plenty of other goodies i grabbed a DRL relay so ill pop that in and see if that makes a difference

i was disappointed that sedan fogs and lips dont fit coupes as i came across a rear ended 94 with mint fogs and a nice looking lip

#210484 DRLs are the law here in Canada ... helps other ishtty drivers see YOU better... so best to try getting them working again.

Fogs at the wreckers were OEM Stanley?

#210538 Don't run power from the fuse box. Run power direct from the battery and use an inline fuse holder within a few inches of your connection there. You can actually hook it up to the battery cable where it goes into the under dash fuse box and this is still considered direct to the battery.

Those fuse taps are pure crap. Would you use duct tape on your car?

If you keep popping the fuse eventually you'll overload the wires and the insulation melts off. Then the bare wires in a bundle will start to touch and the insulation cools basically fusing them together that way. That's when you start to have problems with lots of different circuits, and often times the car will catch fire even when it's not running.

When they finally concluded all the DRL case studies they found that they do not reduce the amount of accidents that occur during the day time. What they would be great for is all the morons around where I live that drive at night and forget to turn on their fucking headlights. These people should be rounded up and put into the gas chamber.

yea i think ill hook up to the main power wire at the back of the box because these hondas suck for holes in the firewall, and yes i would use duct tape on my vehicles and have.....im a 4x4 guy, duct tape and bailing wire has saved me numerous times and i am running an inline fuse [15A] cause ive seen a few buddies light their trucks on fire due to lack of proper fusing and relays.

and yea DRLs if anything probly cause more crap then prevent it cause you get the idiots who cant seem to grasp the DAY part of daytime running lights and dont seem to wanna turn on the headlights at night or say when its raining

#210628 well i put the under dash wrecker relay in and still no DRLs so only thing else in the circuit i can think of would be the under hood resistor as i had to unbolt it when i put my wire through the firewall, but im not to concerned bout it as i run my low beams all the time anyway so ill grab another resistor next time im at the wrecker but no big rush

#210759 ok.....damn electrical so on my way to the store today i noticed that the hi-beam indicator was dimly lit like it normally is when the DRLs so i get out and check and sure enough the god damn DRLs are working like normal :? looks like all is back to normal
