#203742 Whats up everyone im new on this forum..got tired of all the haters on Honda-tech so here i am lol

well i own a 94 cx hatch with a D16z6 with Ingen short ram intake and Dc headers.. recently i had an idling problem where my car would idle at 400-500..i cleaned my throttle body and idle control valve and turned up my idle scew and it seemed to work for a couple of months. but recently it started to idle back to where it used to at 400-500..but it NEVER stalls. My guess is that my timing might be off a tooth or 2 because when i go to warm the car up it sounds like it missfires.. i want to get some input before i go messing with the timing..

thanks

#203747 what did you do recently to cause any changes. and how long did you have this problem?

#203750 Could it be dodgy HT leads or maybe they aren't securely in place ?

My Civic sometimes had/has spells of borderline stall idling from ignition when it seems to start up almost too quickly. Is it from ignition its doing it? I'm getting much more positive idling now with new leads (old ones were original 1994 ones ).

i cleaned out the iacv and that seemed to do the trick until today when it started to idle at 400-500 again

#203776 Simple, you can borrow a timing gun and check. but is the idle issue when your car is cold and warming up, or does the problem persist after its at proper temp?

If its only when its cold, have you tried cleaning the FITV?

Also, like Bielawa said, cause you tried tracing the problem to your plugs, wires, distributor cap/rotor, distributor, bad ground wires? Ohhhh Just thought of it.. vacuum leak?
