I have a guy that has a 90-93 accord with a yakima rack that he wants to sell. My question is if the clamps that attach to the car will fit my coupe?

Not too sure, but you can always order them from yakima or your local bike shop. I believe it is about 30 bucks a set.

You also need the stretch kit if you have the coupe or hatch. I ended up spending around $550 on my rack, I use it more for transporting large items around (couches, ladders, furniture, mattresses etc.) Than I do for bikes. It has been one of the most useful items ever bought for my car. When you buy the clips (q69 and q70, they will have the instructions inside so you can adjust the lengths etc. For a perfect fit.

Take a look at "hatchie's" signature, as you can see the rails are very close together. Yakima actually "recommends" the stretch kit for our 2 door carssince the rails will be close. If you look at my previous post, you will see a tower closer to the rear window. I have the stretch kit for my coupe so I can haul heavy items besides bikes, this allows the weight to be distributed evenly and put less stress on the clips and door sill. The stretch kit let's you know your bikes will be safe at all speeds and even durind normal cornering. You can physically do it without the stretch kit, but your bike carriers will be angled up a lot if you have the "copperhead" style that is shown in my previous post. There will also be the added leverage stress applied to the front 2 clips...that's why Yakima recommends the stretch kit. I actually use my rack for a lot of things, not just hauling bikes.

I use mine for hauling things around, not just for bikes. If you want to be able to carry lumber and whatnot, I would get the stretch kit. Back 6 years ago, the kit was about $100 and clips were around $60 so there will be a significant increase in price vs. Just the clips.
