If converting to RWD is a waste, then converting to AWD is also a waste.
Get yourself an RT4WD wagon. They're awesome, but very difficult to find. And Honda no longer supplies the parts. But still better than an EG AWD.
Second and best option, get an LSD trans. Both B and D series have LSD available, JDM or aftermarket. MFactory or OEM Type R. JDM "GSR" LSD is not worthwhile.
Third option, very unlikely to happen but still more likely than a successful Civic RWD conversion, import a DA AWD.
I'd take any of these over an S2000. That car is flawed.
