Head Problem??

- Fri Mar 26, 2010 7:58 pm #183907 Just wondering if a head problem would make the oil light come on the noise im hearing almost sounds like a rod knock when i first start it up but it goes away....and to be honest when i rev it almost sounds like a noise in the head unsure what it would be tho.....just wondering if that could be my whole problem.....

- Fri Mar 26, 2010 8:17 pm #183912 might need a valve adjustment. possibly a rod bearing about to fail. rod knok is usually very easy to make out. loud clacking noise. how long has this been going on and has it gotten worse?

- Sat Mar 27, 2010 3:58 pm #184033 Well the noise started about a week ago been having an oiling issue about a week in a half ago and the knock started about the time the noise started it would knock twice then go right away.....


and it hasnt been gettin worse i mean in the past week it just keeps doing the same thing...and around the time it should make its peak power it boggs down cosiderably so im thinking hopefully this sunday tomarrow i can sell it for around 5-600$$ ill be breaking even but hey gotta start somewhere maybe i might take the car off the road and get my motorcycle permit for the time being and get my tc100 going so i can have something to drive.....

yea ive had that happen to me before... bottom end knocked hard for a sec or 2 when it started, and i just played it off as top end noise... adjusted my valves and it never went away, about 3 months later the rod bearing finally "cut loose"... id keep an eye on it :eh:

The oil light coming on has nothing to do with the head. OIL PUMP, or pick up. Lack of oil or something like that.

If it is knocking DO NOT drive it. Make sure the bearings arent gone and check for damage.
