#125831 Let me start by saying I hate when little things cause potentially big problems.

I was backing into a spot last night, and I was rolling backwards in neutral at ~3mph. I went to brake and realized (too late) that my floormat was balled up under the brake pedal, then pulled the ebrake right as I hit the curb.

Everything sounded fine at that point, and when I got out and looked the bumper is fine and there is a slight bend in the lip of my exhaust. But when I started her up ~3 hours later, I heard a pretty loud vibration coming from the rear, sounds almost like it's vibrating against the fuel tank or chassis. Grabbed a flashlight and was able to inspect the two rear-most hangars and they aren't torn but I couldn't see much else (she's low and it was raining). If I apply pressure with my foot, it stops.

However, it's very infrequent - as soon as it reached idle temp, it went away, and on the ride home (about 8 miles) I only heard it once or twice and even then, mainly at stoplights while idling.

The plan is to jack it up when I get home today (at work ATM) but I was wondering if there are any specific things I should look for or expect to find.

Thanks in advance :-)

#127590 Thanks for the info, guys, and sorry for the delay in saying so - life has been busy.

It's definitely not the header heat shield or cat shield, it's somewhere behind the cat (connecting pipe and/or muffler hangar or such). Unfortunately I haven't been able to get it off the ground to the point where I can lie under it and take a close look; I was only able to jack up the rear passenger tire and take a quick glance before the rain came in.

At least it's infrequent (for now), I'll update if/when I find out what's happening.
