- Mon May 04, 2009 1:38 pm #114787 so im sure heat shields are on there for a reason. but just wondering. does removing the exhaust headers heat shield have any benefits like cooling the exhaust gases better? or would it have negative impacts on the engine, like heating it up more?

- Mon May 04, 2009 4:24 pm #114808 Don't take it off,there is reason why not. Exhaust gases are traveling faster in hot manifold than in cold!
If you don't like that ugly & rusty sheat metal, use ceramic tape and go arround runners...

NO BOST, NO BOTTLE ... JUST FOOT ON THE THROTLE!!!

The heat shield is to prevent the heat from your exhaust manifold from melting things nearby.
