- Tue Apr 21, 2009 4:12 am #112060 So I traded my buddy Pete my EJ2 for his EG. Its a Grey CX.


It has some wicked body damage and a bad throw out bearing. My dream car is a sick slammed hatch with a beast under the hood. I finally have the car, now I can get started on the build.


First question. Why does the front end sit so much higher than my EJ?

Second, I was under the impression that the exhaust was the same, even the midpipe except for the axle back section. Am I correct in my assumption?

third, the car (and the pedal) lurches when I press the brakes. The front brakes look fine. whats up with that?

fourth, no adjustable steering wheel. I can't see the gauge cluster. Am I up shit creek without a paddle?

fifth, The green cruise control light comes on and off intermittently. I don't have cruise control... wft?

1. i think it's the suspension on the hatch you got is bad, mine sits around the same height as my old ej1

2.i think it's the same just to the cat and that's it's (like right after the downpipe)

3. it's most likely your rear brakes, get ehm check when your car stops it uses all four brakes even though most people only change the fronts since they wear out the fastest the rears do have to replace even once in a while

4. yes and no, if you leave it as is then yes your boned, unless you can find a wrecked ej1 or si, or any other model that had tilt steering then you can change the steering colum on it.

5. that car never came with CC so there should never have been a light there, the gauges is from a different model hence why the light is blinking, either install cc in your car, go through and find the wire and cut it, or just yank the bulb from the cluster

and if you have an old SHOC you want to get rid of let me know i'm looking for one don't care if it's v-tec or not i live in SA

- Tue Apr 21, 2009 8:22 pm #112226 Do you need the tranny too? It shifts fine, but the throw out bearing makes hella noise.

You should see the valvetrain on this engine. Took off the oil cap and DAMN its clean!
