#111461 Alright so the title might be a little missleading but my buddy bought a set of 8000k HIDs from jdmlighting and we installed them and everything and they look sick but we cant determin if they are any brighter than the sylvania silverstars he had before. So my question is Have you guys found your HID's being brighter than after market halogens? Cause i want HID's but i only wanna buy ones that wil be worth it ya know?

And im not dissin on jdmlighting at all it was just a reference point and if needed i can remove their name from the paragraph.

#111463 an 8000k HID kit... no they probably aren't any more brighter then the old halogens, also the build quality of the bulbs effect the light output too.

If you want real lighting i'd recommend an HID retrofit. as OEM HID bulbs has a shit ton more output then standard halogen

#111467 $165 for a hid kit is a rip off these days', You can get em for <$70 now. i bought one on apeccone.com for $35 because they own the plant they are made in

#111468 so another quik question, am i retarded and reading wrong or do i have to buy projectors to do the retrofit hids?

#111469 Yes you would require HID projectors from a vehicle that came equipped with HID's from the factory, and for a good setup, you'd be looking at spending $400-$500 if you already had headlights to retro them in.

#111473 no problem, there's plenty of HID info on here posted from both Myself and Lowtec_derbo

I'd recommend also checking out hidplanet.com and reviewing their university section if you're really interested in pursuing HID lighting
