General engine questions/issues that aren't specific to the other categories

#110312 Bro's,

I need some advice from anybody around.

I have a B18C Gsr in my EG8 with lightened crank pulley,headers,2.3" exhaust system, lightened flywheel ....open pod HKS super flow filter.

I have installed a SARD fuel pressure regulator and i just need some tips from those who have experience with this engine or knows what range should the average PSI be on WOT or idle.

Dyno tuning here is a little pricey and would rather just use the trial and error version, but im not sure if im in the right range, after doing some reading, it was said in a couple of sites that stock b18c gsr has about 42psi on WOT.

But my mech claims otherwise, ive currently tried 31 and 32 psi on idle.

Any comment or help is much appreciated. Thank you.

#111062 Fuel pressure at idle
B18B1 engines
With regulator vacuum hose attached: 31-36 psi
With regulator vacuum hose disconnected: 40-47 psi

B18C1 engines through 1997
With regulator vacuum hose attached - 39 to 46 psi
With regulator vacuum hose disconnected - 48 to 55 psi

B18C1/B18C5 engines through 98+
With regulator vacuum hose attached - 38-46 psi
With regulator vacuum hose disconnected - 47-54 psi

i had my b18c at 45psi with vac. hose attached...

Thank You for taking the time to reply my post.

I tried 39psi at idle...I get very slight popping upon deceleration but no smoke is coming out the exhaust and i dont smell petrol too...i decreased it to 36 psi at the moment.

i just got a set of NGK Iridiums IX,going to install it tomorrow and ill increase the pressure to 38psi and see how it runs.

Thank you.At least now i know im at the right range.

Can i ask,why would you disconnect the vacuum?

#111321 its suppose to give u a more accurate measurement with the vac. disconnected, but in my IMO its no difference...

your altitude matters also... whats Malaysia's altitude?

my b18c was tune at sea-level @45psi, but the track we raced at was 3000ft above sea-level... it would run rich at the track, so we would knock 3-4psi down...

ahhh ic...more accurate in terms when you remove the vac,the pressure at tat moment should reflect the PSI on WOT ?

Im honestly not so sure whats my altitude..lolx

i failed my geography
