Technical Topics specific to the Hatchback body - NOT where you post pics/build specs of your car.

#100730 If you didn't care about the wheels/steering wheel/battery I'm sure you could cut the costs a lot if you told him to leave that out.

Personally I wouldn't pay over 2 grand for the shell unless it has good history, the interior is nice, you don't need to spend more money on wiring, and the car isn't filled with body filler under the paint job.

#100732 2 grand :o. dude ill make my car a shell and you can buy it. I wouldn't pay more than 700-900 for a clean shell. Here in florida they are pretty cheap and in good shape.

I'd offer him a grand since you don't want that other stuff.

#100734 Man they go for alot $$ around here. I was thinking $1500. It's really weird. It looks like it use to be a really clean car and then it's like people just started pulling off random parts that they were missing off their EG for example the hood latch and radiator bracket why would these random items be missing.

#100737 like you said, maybe he let some of his friends pull parts they need.

#100754 Most recent one I've seen is a B16 swapped wanting $5200 and it needed a new paint job and just looked ragged. There was one good deal a guy was selling a shell with a K swap (motor not in car) only things needed were axles and a K pro he only wanted $5500 last I heard he was prepping it for paint. He doesn't really care if he sells it.

#100835 You'd have to be very stupid to pay $2300. I wouldn't pay more than $800. It's a shell... where do they get off? You'd be better getting a stock, complete running vehicle.

Don't do it man. It doesn't look good. There is absolutely no reason for that harness to be ripped out like that. That's a small sign of many more underlying problems.

Florida. And there is absolutely nothing wrong with it either.

Yea I was thinking it might be better off just to get one that is running. I liked this one but the wiring is what I was afraid of.

$5500???? Damn!
Here in cali nice clean hatches with k's usually don't go less than $8-$9g's.
My brother sold his k seires hatch for $7500 I think. But that was after he had sold his itr rear and front seats seperately.

Anyways back on topic. I would've said go for it if all the wiring was there. But if its not there, there are bound to be more stuff missing that you need. You can probably find a hatch for the same amount or maybe less and running.

:eh: i'd have to know someone very well to trust a "zero needs" k20 hatch for 5500. thats friends and family prices... not craigslist.

#100897 K series is awesome and all but I'm just a biiger B series fan simply for the simplicity.
I'll keep updates on other shells I find. I basically want a shell so that I can paint the car. If I go look at this car I'll get better pics. Probably email him back a price if the wiring isn't chopped up to bad.
