#226466 It sucks our B16 have barely any torque, and installing a bigger throttle body will decrease power and is not recommended, what if we down grade to a D series throttle body (56mm-55mm) and piping to match, would that increase torque because there will be slightly more restriction?

#226477 If so, Honda would have done it :thumb:
The engineers figure out the best way to make their motors the most efficient. I'd focus on modifying other parts of the motor to get your money's worth.

Or you can just bore your motor if you want more torque and do as other people stated use different upgrades

#226706 The b16 is a High Reving Short Stroke Engine. You are not going to get low end torque short of putting a Super Charger on it or a very small turbo.

I had a b16 and hated its lack of torque. The Easiest way for Torque? Pull out the b16 and Swap in an b18b LS or better yet a B20. When I sold my b16 I completely paid for my Low mileage JDM 99spec B20b(Same as our B20z)

If you also want the top end as well, B18c GSR's have a good deal of torque compared to a b16 and oem dohc vtec. Doing a LS/vtec or a B20/vtec will net you even more torque however you wont want to rev as high given the longer stroke.

We have a DIY for building a Reliable LS/b20vtec in our DIY list which you can access by going under the misc tab at the top of each page and selecting "DIY how to list"

#226725 I am definitely doing a B20B and turbo within the year coming up so i will be reading that DIY section religeously

but yeah, you will get better mid range to upper power but the bottom end suffers more

#227436 Neither going bigger or smaller will help. It's the goldilocks rule.
