If you look at the tranny, right in the middle toward the front, there is a metal tube about 1" tall and 1/4" dia sticking up. Is this some sort of vent tube or is it for a dip stick? Not sure if I should leave it open...

- Fri May 11, 2007 2:30 pm #7737 Yeah, its just a vent tube. If your input shaft seal goes bad you'll leak fluid out of it.

- Sat May 12, 2007 10:31 pm #7782 There is a 17mm bolt just a few inches above the drain plug that you feed fluid in through. Once it starts leaking out your done.
