- Tue Mar 18, 2014 1:34 am #343477 I had a surging idle so I replaced the FITV as i have seen suggested and the idle is around 3500 all the time even when warmed up, any help would be much apreciated!

- Tue Mar 18, 2014 3:12 am #343481 you probably have a vacuum leak. when the engine is running take carb/brake cleaner and spray it all around the intake manifold and such and listen for the engine speed to change. thats a quick way to find the leak

- Tue Mar 18, 2014 4:24 pm #343495 Another thing to check is that there is enough slack in the throttle cable for the throttle body to close all the way. If its just a tiny bit too tight after putting everything back together, it will keep the tb open enough to make the engine idle high.
