I'm pretty sure its a rod knocking, but just wanted to bring it past you all to get your opinion. It's a 1998 Oldmobile 88.

sounds like lifters. how does it sound when you rev it?

plus one is there even any oil in it?

- Wed Mar 14, 2012 4:59 pm #298227 The tempo varies with engine speed. She said she first heard it with her window down so I guess it makes the noise as she's driving. As the motor warms up, the ticking sometimes goes away but will come back when started again.
