- Fri Mar 05, 2010 11:26 pm #179443 Ok so im trying to sell my Z6 head etc....and a friend has someone looking to do a mini me head swap but its on a ek 96-00 civic and with those the crank sensor is in the oil pump....and im pretty sure z6 is z6 only dizzy.....

So kinda wondering if the Z6 head will work in a EK if i was to depin it leave ou tthe cps wire or bypass the oil pump one and go at it like that.....

Anyone have any input would like to figure this out asap so i could get some nice green lol and maybe some parts...

- Sat Mar 06, 2010 2:57 pm #179512 The y8's have the dipstick coming out in the front corner of the block. might want to compare to see if it is compatible with the z6.
Also a z6 head on a y8 block is going to lower compression a bit.
If it is a 99-00 with cold start assist, then there may be a problem there, y8 heads have a pocket cast on the intake side of the head for cold start assist.
And there might be a timing issue as well, but that can be solved with an adjustable timing gear.

as long as you use a z6 cam and cam gear in the z6 head.
dipstick not an issue for the head.
