Ohio - Photoshoot Meet - June 2

You can come late/leave early. Just be sure to PM me to get my cell so you can find us.
I'm still mapping out the spots, there will be 4-5 locations we travel to in Akron (mostly in the downtown/campus area).

hey would anybody here be interested in a NE OH photoshoot meet? I'm in the planning stages but thinking about setting the date for Sat June 2. Location would be Akron (I know the good photo shoot spots) This would be a combined meet from a few sites (clubsi.com, eghatchback.com, ohiohondas.com...)
Any kind of car will do, not just Civics. And if you don't have a camera, plenty of other people will so there will be shots of your car either way.
if there's any interest, let me know and I'll get a list started!

Being the first one of these meets I ever set up, it is going to be an experiment. After this event, I'll help you guys set up similar events in your region.

The weather is finally good and I like to see people out taking pics of their cars 8)

- Thu May 31, 2007 12:44 am #9164 Yep! I have a few from Ohiohondas, 1-2 from ClubSi, 4-5 from Ohioscions, and a couple from Civic-EG showing up. So about 10 cars total.

I mapped out 6 shooting spots today, I didn't have time to upload the map though. I'll post it tomorrow. I have some nice spots picked out for some sweet pics. 8)

S = Start at the parking lot of Spaghetti Warehouse.
We'll meet here @ 5:00 PM. If you're going to be more than a few mins late,
you can catch up with us at one of the shooting spots.
Also, if anyone wants my cell, PM me.

1. Directly across the street from where we meet, under the S. High St/N. Main St. Bridge.
Here's a pic of what this area looks like:

2. Water St. is a 2-way street 1 block long.
It's usually pretty empty for being only 1 block from downtown.
It has a bunch of old run down looking buildings, but you won't get robbed in this area.
Depending on the # of cars, we might skip #2.
There's not a whole lot of room since there's no parking lot.

3. W Falor St.
There's a big parking lot at the end of the street on the right.
There's also a pretty cool warehouse/tunnel and an industrial loading dock area.

4. University Parking Deck by Rt. 8 is a few years old.
It has white lighting. There's a few good spots in here for pics:

5. Another parking deck, on E. Bucthel Ave.
This one is also a few years old with white lighting.
If we take longer at the other spots, then we'll skip this one since it's sort of similar to #4.

6. E. Exchange St. Parking deck.
this is the old school deck, kind of next to National City (but not too close)
and across from Mc Donalds (not directly) It has yellow lighting inside.

What to bring:
- a clean vehicle
- camera
- fresh batteries!!
- an empty memory card
- a tripod is going to be needed when the sun starts to go down.
If you don't have one, you should buy one.
Once you see what a difference it makes, you'll use it all the time.
- food/water if you think you'll get hungry/thirsty.
Time always goes by fast when shooting, there probably won't be time to stop anywhere to eat.

Please don't show up to rev the hell out of your car or do burnouts.
Akron cops have always been cool with me before when I shoot in these places,
but if we're a nuisance that might change.

D15kid - The scion people are bringing two 1st gen xB's (both with nice mods), one 2nd gen 2008 xB (stock), one tC, and one guy is bringing something else instead of his scion, not sure what. So we'll see who shows up and who flakes... There might be more Hondas or it might be about equal, we'll see Sat :woot:
