#7044 Not sure if anybody is familiar with this company. They used to be mainly into corvettes, these days they deal with pretty much any GM they can stuff a v8 into.
http://www.mallettcars.com is their site, they have more pics of their shop & cars that weren't there when I was there. We were there doing some shooting, but their shop was full with all the props & tools, plus this their busy time of year. I used to live about 20-30 mins from their shop, so I'd see one of their projects on the street every now and then in Brunswick on a Sat. night.

Pontiac Solstice receiving a de-stroked LS2 with components from an LS7, including dry sump system.

Image
while checking out the massive rear brakes, I saw something else...

Image
rear mounted turbo, I figured it would have some lag being back there but the fin design eliminates lag. They estimated the car to have 900 HP, enough to break the tires loose in 5th gear!

Image
you won't be opening the hood to clean your air filters... they fabbed them in the trunk.

Next to the solstice was a Saturn Sky receiving an LS7 motor:

in the background is one of the cleanest machine shops I've ever seen

Here's the fastest car in the building, A Grand Sport corvette. Top speed of 248 mph, 0-200 back to 0 on 20 seconds. Notice the rake of the windshield is not stock, they moved the top of the windshield back to make it more aerodynamic. Chuck Mallet has run this car a few times in Bull Run (the real bull run across the US- not the Spike TV show) and won!

The Vette is going into retirement.

Next to the vette is Mallett Sr.'s drag car.

only 3865 lbs with full interior?? that's lighter than most v8's made today.
This Ford Galaxie is one of very few built from aluminum. This car is rare and you can't really put a price on it. I was told a story while I was there that someone offered $700k for the car (there is no motor/tranny) and it was no deal!

They were cool for me to wonder around the building and snap some pics...

So much stuff!! From Laser Jammers to vintage RC boats.

They love RC cars too, a good way to unwind after working on real cars all day.

Back to the first room...

Ever wonder what a bare Corvette chassis looked like?

So that's where I was Friday, instead of posting on here! Thought I'd share it with you all. I only had my point & shoot Nikon S9, I'd love to go back one day with a nice camera, there's so much I didn't get pics of!
